Lloyd’s Register
To develop People Leaders across the organisation
To support individuals stepping into their first leadership roles, Lloyd’s Register launched a global Frontline Leader programme, ‘Accelerate’. Designed initially for the UK, ‘Accelerate’ has now been delivered across the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The programme equips new leaders with consistent, core leadership skills while addressing the challenges of leading through change and managing potential burnout. With a focus on building confidence, competence, and respectful engagement, the programme required region-specific adaptations —such as native-speaking facilitators in parts of Asia—to ensure cultural relevance and impact.
Accelerate programme
The programme consists of seven custom-designed online modules for up to 18 participants, tailored to reflect the business’s leadership competencies and language. Covering topics such as Think Like a Leader, Connect Effectively with Your Team, Adapt and Thrive, and Coach Your Team to Success, each module is highly interactive, featuring regular breakouts and group discussions. Participants check in regularly with their managers throughout the programme, with managers also joining the first and final sessions to stay connected to the learning journey. One module includes professional actors who model key behaviours and provide participants with the opportunity to practise challenging conversations in a safe and supportive environment. Following the pilot cohort, the content was iterated in close partnership with the client to better meet the evolving needs of the business.
