Tom Masiello

Tom Masiello

I’m dedicated to helping businesses respond more effectively to their markets. Over the past 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of consulting with a wide range of companies across diverse industries—designing and implementing training systems and organisational solutions that address real business challenges and drive strategic results.

My work centers on helping organisations become more customer-focused. I developed a process to help companies align more closely with their markets, and I’ve worked extensively with senior executives to identify key business issues and shape practical, results-driven responses. My consulting and coaching span areas such as market and customer focus, strategic planning, consulting and negotiation skills, branding and marketing, strategic selling, conflict management, and team development.

Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed facilitating meaningful learning experiences—whether through customised in-house programs or in public forums. I’ve toured the U.S. delivering my two-day program, How to Be a Better Marketing Manager, to hundreds of senior executives through university-based executive education programs. I also published Developing Market Responsiveness Throughout Your Company in Industrial Marketing Management, and I’ve taught Marketing, Finance, and English at The State University of New York, Marist College, and Brooklyn College.

I hold an MBA in Finance from NYU, along with an MFA in Writing and a BA in English from Brooklyn College. My client portfolio spans a broad spectrum—so much so that if you name an industry, I can probably name several companies I’ve worked with in that space.

My work has taken me around the world—25 times, in fact. I’ve consulted on six continents and in 46 of the 50 U.S. states, and I bring a truly global perspective to every engagement.

Outside of my professional life, I’ve published a book of poetry, Fulcrum of Vision, introduced by Pulitzer Prize–winner John Ashbery. I also contributed a personal account of my narrow escape from the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, in the book History and September 11th.
